IRS MANUAL ON HOW TO APPLY FOR AN
EIN
EXAMPLE OF AN EIN APPLICATION
SHELF
CORPORATION: AGED EMPLOYER IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (EIN).
There are clients who call
expressing interest in a shelf corporation that has an aged EIN.
Many of these clients have scoured the internet and talked to several of
our competitors. Although the application of the EIN can determine
what state the corporation was originally formed, the age of the EIN is
not shown in the number. After calling the IRS several times and
obtaining a consistent answer, they mentioned that the EIN is not a serial
number.
In other
words, EIN's are not provided this way:
90-1053780
90-1053781
90-1053782
Instead,
they are random numbers:
90-5893518
90-8934168
90-7152159
Since the
numbers are random, you cannot tell the age by the number. Don't
OVERPAY for a shelf corporation because a promoter tells you that the EIN
is aged. There's no way to tell what is the age of the EIN.
If anyone
calls the IRS, this information is kept private. Not even the bank
knows the age of the EIN.
The above numbers are not
real. They are examples to illustrate a point.
We do NOT provide aged EIN's
for the above reasons.
